New UPDATE coming manana!!
holla :)
Lately i've been reading the book "Radical" Taking back your faith from the American dream by David Platt. This book is really good and speaks lots of truths that people tend to avoid to think about. Taking the American dream, being successful for ourselves and just being "too comfortable" with where we are in life; it is time to put those things aside and GIVE God the glory with EVERYTHING WE have! To praise God with every breathe and not to waste time just living for ourselves (we were made for something more).
One quote that i really like from the book is this, " The possibilities are limitless when the people of God are equipped and empowered to accomplish the purpose of God in the context of where they live day in and day out. " Just imagine- if we just lived out our purpose how many people could KNOW GOD, and see HIM in us and want HIM! He's too good to hide and keep to ourselves.
Another quote which i can back up 100% because this totally related when i was living in Puerto Rico, " I am convinced that when we open up our lives to the global purpose of God, He will shows us things we have never seen and take us places we have never been before. We will realize that God has given us gifts, skills, and passions that He desires to use in unique ways around the world." What is stopping us from doing so? What is stopping me from doing so? How amazing this challenge is, for us to go out and make disciples for our Father!
I put up a pictures of these awesome folks because i just love them! They are from Orocovis and such sweet people. One Deaf leader, Victor, works really hard picking them up from their houses in the deep mountains that take at least 4 to 5 hour total travel time to pick them up & bring them home. Only Victor knows how to arrive to this area of the mountains because once you start driving you most likely will get lost. When i arrived in Puerto Rico for the Deaf Crusade last month (which i cannot believe time has flown by since my visit there) I discovered that Victor has been really sick to the point where he could not move one side of his body. He has been in and out of the hospital a lot since i left Puerto Rico in December. Victor is one of the most humble men i have met in Puerto Rico. Victor and his wife give and pour out so much of themselves to make the gospel known to these people. Victor's health is improving but it now limits him and the ministry to the mountains. The people around Abonito (where he lives) come to his house and supports him so much because of the LOVE he shows them.
Victor normally has Bible study at his house once a week but since he became ill they still came on their normal night. He was so surprised to see 60 Deaf standing in his house, wanting to lead Bible study and pray for him. The reason why these people are drawn to him is because of the love that victor has for these people. This love that eludes from him only comes from one thing, GOD! The love of GOD is so powerful that it can change you!! It changed me! The only reason why Victor loves the way he does is because God loved HIM FIRST! How amazing is that!
Let me share with you what the scriptures say about the love of God for you:
He takes great delight in you, rejoices over you with gladness and quiets you with His love; He sings over you (Zeph. 3:14-17).
Do you know that you ravish His heart? (Song of Solomon 4:9)
His adorations are upon you, so much so that He knows even the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7).
You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
He is jealous for you (Joel 2:18), longs to be betrothed to you (Hosea 2:16) where you long for nothing but His love and know and live in His love for you.
Do you know that He is preparing a place for you? (John 14:2-3)
You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in his book. (Psalm 139:15-16).
He determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live. (Acts 17:26).
His thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore. (Psalms 139:17-18)
You are His treasured possession. (Exodus 19:5)
I pray these verses and that story blesses you today! Keep on praying for Puerto Rico and other ministries around us. Keep shining and remember to show that love to others that God has lavished upon us!
until next time... oxox
